RECYCLING AND REUSABILITY

Here are a couple of notes of interest regarding recycling plastic bags and the reusing of tote bags.

• What is the number one item left in plastic bags that prevent them from being recycled?

• gum

• cigarette butts

• receipts

• food

Answer: 3-receipts.

I realized I was guilty of the offense more than once, and I now take the receipts out of the bags before recycling.

• When taking those tote bags to the grocery store, whether they be pp non-woven or cotton or whatever, make sure you wash them on occasion. E-coli germs can pop up now and them. Throw them in the washing machine and hang them on the line to dry.
